Program: In an attempt to remain proactive and not reactive the California Highway Patrol (CHP) introduces Start Smart to educate newly licensed and future licensed teenage drivers. The Start Smart Program is a cooperative effort between CHP, Teenage Drivers and their Parents, DMV and concerned citizens such as Stop n Go Driving n Traffic School and Ken Evans of Enterprise Insurance Services, Hea San Sin of Cost-U-Less Insurance Center and Eddie Medeiros of Farmers Insurance. This is a (2) Hour free course given by CHP Officers!
CHP's Goal
· To help young drivers and their Parents/Guardians understand the responsibilities of operating a motor vehicle
· To show how a poor choice Behind-The-Wheel can change the lives of everyone involved
· To reduce the number of teen related injuries and death due to collisions
Each student will receive a certificate from the CHP's Start Smart program which could potentially reduce the cost of their insurance.
